Wedded Bliss

I could never have imagined a more perfect day than my wedding day. I got to marry my dream man in a dream location with 46 of our closest friends and family.

I had always dreamed about being married in Hawaii but never thought it would come true so when we settled on having a destination wedding in Waikiki I knew it was going to be amazing no matter what.
I planned our entire wedding by email so its safe to say I was a bundle of nerves and stress hoping everything would turn out exactly like I had planned and for the most part it. Thankfully the day went off without a hitch.

GETTING READY
The day was truly amazing. We had a late afternoon ceremony so I got to spend most of the day with my bridesmaids and mum getting ready, laughing and trying not to freak out. I honestly could not have got through the day without them. They kept my mind off having a melt down, organised decorations to be sent to the reception, helped the photographer and made me food. I couldn't have picked better girls to be by my side that day.

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was held at Diamond Head Beach Park, the most intimate and perfect spot I could have ever asked for. Behind us the waves crashed against the rock wall and opposite, the base of Diamond Head. We got to incorporate some Hawaiian wedding traditions into our ceremony which was really special. We exchanged shell lei's and swapped sand in little bags to represent us becoming one.

THE RECEPTION
Our reception venue was without a doubt the MOST AMAZING venue I have ever seen. The Coconut Club in Waikiki is a standout. The views are beyond incredible, photos don't do it justice and neither do words. It is a full 180* view of Waikiki, from Diamond Head to the marina. The tables were set outside on the balcony where we took in the beautiful sunset and later on the twinkling lights of Waikiki.
The food was eaten, the drinks flowed and the dancing shoes came on (or should I say came off because I danced barefoot all night?).

FAVE MOMENTS
I have 2 – 1. Walking down the aisle. We chose a ukulele cover of 'Cant help falling in love with you' to walk down to and I honestly don’t remember hearing the song being played. I was so focused on Matt and I couldn’t wait to get down the end of the aisle to him.
I remember my dad saying 'We wait until the celebrant gives us the cue to go' but I was ready to go before she could give us the wave and I was quite insistent that we start walking. I couldn't focus on anything else but Matt, I don't remember looking at anyone else or taking in the location, to me it was just Matt and I and no one else.

2. Sealing the ‘I do’s’ with a kiss. I had always wanted to be dipped with the kiss and I always made Matt practice with me but on the day I realised we didn’t work out which way we would dip so just before they pronounced us husband and wife matt had to whisper to me to ask which way we were going.

Everyone says to take it all in because the day goes by so quickly and they weren't wrong. It was like you blinked and it was time to leave. I never wanted the night to end and I want to re-do the day over and over. I picked the most amazing husband to be and it wouldn't have been the perfect day it was without him.

I couldn't have been happier with our wedding photos. Nicole from Studio 3511 was incredible. She captured our day exactly how it was and exactly how Matt and I wanted them. Our photos weren't posey, staged or tacky. She truly captured our love and happiness.

Check out our wedding video below, you would never believe this was their first wedding video and I am so happy that Jana and Sarah took that chance to be there on the day and give us a video we can cherish forever.

Now can we all go back to Hawaii and do it all over again??
